TAPE HUM/HISS: These lectures were originally recorded on analog “magnetic” media (tape). Tape will, especially in old media, carry a background “hiss” or “hum”. This is magnetic noise that is almost impossible to remove without also removing the vocal frequencies (i.e., 772-3.3kHz). Removing the “hiss” removes critical “consonant” sounds in speech, and removing the “hum” can sometimes create a “barrel” or “underwater” effect. We at Neville Goddard Library expend exorbitant effort and time to remove as much of the “hiss” and “hum” without destroying speech clarity and vocal comprehension.
