"Duration of Passion" is a story about the intense and fleeting nature of love. It explores the emotions and struggles that come with the realization that passion has given way to hatred. As the melody develops, the piano and cello play in harmony, building in intensity and passion, protagonist realizes that the passion that once fueled their love has now turned to hatred. The melody then slowly fades away and the short duration of passion is emphasized, showing how quickly love can fade and turn into something bitter.
