The legend of Apache tears | We find obsidian, agate, butterscotch jasper and a cave!

We left Baker Hot Springs and headed toward Topaz Mountain in Utah. although we didn't go searching for topaz we did find apache tears (obsidian) and butterscotch jasper on Butterscotch Hill. We lucked out on a few good agates with botryoidal and druze. We think they may have been broken geodes. pluse a huge piece of mahogany obsidian was found in this rockhounding adventure. Then we drove through Fish Springs Wildlife refuge and hiked up to Hot Springs Cave overlooking the dried up lake bed of Lake Bonneville, a part of the Great Basin landscape. This made for a great talk about geology as well as some some Native American history. Oh and we tell you how to find rockhounding spots, at least one way we go about it. This video is jam packed!
