The tenth study from Jean-Louis Duport's collection, composed like No.8 by his brother Jean-Pierre, a key figure in the development of the German school (Romberg, Grutzmacher, Klengel, etc): Allegro in A Major As bonus track, a study by Jean-Pierre's teacher Martin Berteau similarly dealing with the notoriously difficult saltando (or ricochet) stroke is included: Vivace in A Minor, part of the set of Elite-Studen compiled by Grutzmacher in the late 1800s.
