There's a high probability that your oriental cat, even from the best cattery, will be a pet with poor health. This must be taken into account when choosing a breed. Financial costs and emotional hardships may be involved. This information comes from personal experience, as well as from my veterinarian's extensive experience. Diseases vary widely, often affecting the gastrointestinal tract. My oriental cat has gastritis, and flare-ups require IVs to manage them. One cause of gastritis is ingested hair. Furthermore, malt pastes, which are supposed to address this issue, make the cat even more nauseous, even when not in a flare-up. We are currently undergoing treatment, which has alleviated the flare-up. Wishing your pets good health!
