The Gorbals Vampire: Glasgow's Man wi' the Iron Teeth (Paranormal & Mystery)

In 1954, strange and horrifying tales began to circulate the playgrounds of Glasgow. A hideous and ghoulish creature had kidnapped and murdered two local children. This creature was known as the Gorbals vampire or the man wi the iron teeth. He was said to be 7 foot tall, have blood red eyes and sharpened iron teeth. The stories going around school, had it that the vampire would drink the blood and eat the bodies of his victims. It wasn’t long before every child in the area had their own tale of the vampire, some saw him at night, prowling in the darkness, other saw him hiding in the shadows, but they all knew that the vampire rested in the southern necropolis, the city of the dead. Glasgow’s southern necropolis was built in 1840, It is the second largest cemetery to be established within the city. It was created to provide a far more extensive burial area and was a direct response to the crowded state of the old Gorbals Burial Ground.
