Qui détrônera la Champagne ?!

Can sparkling wines from around the world and other regions of France compete with champagne, at a similar price, in a blind tasting? We tasted five wines: Bellavista "Alma" Cuvée Brut 2019 – Franciacorta DOCG Champagne Gosset Grande Réserve Brut Mélanie Pfister Crémant d'Alsace "Breit" Blanc de Blancs Extra-Brut Adelsheim Vineyard Sparkling Brut Cuvée – Oregon Bride Valley Brut Reserve 2014 Our rating scale: 60-70/100: We prefer to drink water. 70-75/100: We take a sip to avoid offending someone. 75-80/100: We might drink a glass to treat an old friend or colleague. 80-85 / 100: It's interesting, it might even be nice, but not necessarily enough to cellar. 85-90 / 100: A good, pleasant wine with character. We're starting to want to buy it for the cellar. 90-93 / 100: Very good, it deserves to be in the cellar (and ideally, we already have one). 94-95 / 100: Superb wine, a memorable experience. We're willing to travel several hundred kilometers to taste it, even just once. 95-97 / 100: Exceptional wine, a unique and unforgettable experience. 98-99 / 100: If one of us opens a bottle in this category without the other, we won't speak to each other again. 100 / 100: The unicorn, a legendary animal. We are still looking for it and are prepared to undertake any journey, effort, or research to find it.
