‘He Has a Gun:’ Son Recalls Gas Station Owner Allegedly Shooting Teen

On Friday, Andy Chow, the son of former gas station owner Rick Chow, testified in his father’s murder trial in the death of 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton, describing the incident as he recalled it. He said he believed the teen had taken something from his father’s gas station and chased him after he left the store, later stating he thought the teen had a gun pointed at him as he caught up. Andy testified that he told his father, “he has a gun,” as Rick Chow allegedly ordered the teen to drop it before firing one shot. He also said his father immediately tried to help the teen by applying pressure to the wound and performing chest compressions. Rick Chow is charged with murder in connection with the teen’s death.
