When the matter was mentioned before a bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, the CJI reportedly said the court was “not interested in videos” and asked the petitioner not to “waste the time of the court.” On the government side, Additional Solicitor General S. Raju (appearing for Delhi Police and the Centre) argued that the protest was not entirely peaceful, that “mob elements” resorted to violence, and that some of the petitions appear aimed at publicity. Official figures have cited injuries to both police personnel and protesters.
