31st Discourse: “Anger shown for the sake of Allah is considered good. Anger felt for other reasons is not considered good. A believer does not show anger without Allah's command. He does not become angry for his own sake. He becomes angry for the victory of the religion of Islam; but he does not become harsh to fulfill the desires of his ego. A believer becomes infinitely angry if one of the religious commands is violated; his anger is intense. Perhaps a tiger whose house has been taken from him cannot become as angry as this. Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty also gets angry. The anger of a believer resembles divine anger. He becomes angry at the things that displease the Creator, whose faith is complete, and he rejoices in the things that please Him. Do not show anger that is actually for your ego but appears outwardly for Allah. Otherwise, you will become a hypocrite. Even if you are not a hypocrite, you will resemble one. That which is for Allah is lasting and enduring. Anger directed for others lasts only a short time and then passes. Dedicate your existence to the path of Truth..." Be with those who have dedicated themselves. Find strength in their strength. Align your views with theirs. If you do this, the Creator will praise you as He praises them. He will praise you to the angels. In other words, He will boast about you. Everything flees from its opposite and what it dislikes. Forces are diverse. Among those opposites are sacred forces and, opposite them, non-sacred forces; your task is to take the divine force and cast aside its opposite. Fill your being with the presence of Truth. If you lose that sacred presence, it is impossible to find anything. You will see. Then you will see Him again. It is impossible to see existence outside of Him. Provided that you can purify your being. What won't you see? But purification is essential. Just as one cannot enter the presence of a king with external filth, it is impossible to enter the presence of the sacred being with inner defilement. Your inner self is empty, filled with hungry wolves. What will they do to you? Make a revolution in your soul, purify it. Only after this... You can enter the presence of the Shah. The closeness of Truth is awe-inspiring. If you do not feel awe, do not speak of His closeness, lest they expose you as a liar. You amuse yourself with the affairs of servants. You expect them to come and kiss your hand. You wait at the door for them to come and give you something. You feel sorrow when they do not fulfill your wishes. Your face smiles when you are praised. Your face contorts when someone speaks ill of you. If those great ones remain calm in the presence of Truth, their faith increases. If they trust in servants and chase after their temporary possessions, they become miserable, and their faith weakens. But they can never rely on created beings. They trust in their Creator, they rely on Him. Their point of support is Truth. They fear Him. If they expect anything, they expect it from Him. Because that is where they will eventually go. They are people of Tawhid (Oneness of God). They do not even know the path of Shirk (polytheism). This is the state they are in. Tawhid has taken root in their hearts. They converse with people, they are good... They get along well. If someone acts ignorantly towards them, they do not become like them. God Almighty described this characteristic of theirs as follows: "When the ignorant address them with harsh words, they respond with peace." (Al-Furqan, 25/63) Be silent; be gentle with the ignorant. Do not let the wrongdoings of the ignorant grieve you. Do not let the ill temper inherent in their nature make you frown. Do not let the deviant manifestations of their ego and personal desires grieve you. But when they commit a sin, do not remain silent, speak. Silence in the face of wrongdoing is forbidden. Speaking then is considered an act of worship. If you have the power, encourage good deeds. Prevent evil. Do not be deficient in this matter. That door is a door of goodness. Consider it a treasure for yourself, and strive to enter. What is the lifespan of the world? How long do its blessings last? Does the good state that exists one day remain the next? A believer perceives these things in their inner world. The world has an ugly nature. It has its own stain. Every word carries poison. Its taste disappears immediately. And it never returns. None of its promises come true. It does not keep its covenant. To trust in it and build palaces upon it is like building a house on water. Faith The owner of the world does not cling to it. He does not intend to be a part of it. Therefore, he increases his rank. He becomes the possessor of divine knowledge. He does not love created things. For this reason, he does not desire the other world either. He does not let his heart be captivated by it. He desires the hereafter only because the manifestation of God will be in the other world. The great task of the believer i...
