Aristotle, De Anima: What does the soul do? (pt 1)
In Aristotle's famous work On the Soul (Latin: De Anima), he describes what the soul is, and its functions. In our short excerpt we examine Aristotle's view that the soul's activities involve a body. The soul, after all, is what makes the body a living organism, and it seems that emotions (an activity of the soul) are intimately connected with physical activity. In this video series we discuss Hylomorphism, the Act-Potency distinction, and Aristotle's view that the soul is the Form of the body. http://www.jonathanvajda.com Email: [email protected] for questions, topic recommendations, interviews, direct instruction arrangements, etc. Twitter: @jonathanvajda If you want to say thanks with a tip or gift (say, buy me coffee?), see my support landing page: https://jonathanvajda.com/support/
