Police Found 7 Members of One Family Shot Across 3 Crime Scenes—Arrested 2 Teenagers Aged 15 and 16

Police initially believed they were investigating three separate shootings across East St. Louis, Illinois. Then investigators discovered that all seven people who had been shot belonged to the same extended family. Five relatives were killed, while two others survived with serious injuries. The victims were found at the Samuel Gompers Homes public housing complex, Jones Park, and near Thirty-Ninth Street and Summit Avenue. Authorities later arrested two teenagers, just 15 and 16 years old, after troopers located their vehicle and forced it to stop. The case became even more disturbing when police confirmed that at least one suspect had a family connection to a victim. Relatives told local reporters that the teenage girl taken into custody was closely related to members of the Thompson family and that the second suspect was reportedly her boyfriend. However, those reported relationships had not yet been established in court at the time covered in this documentary. Among those killed were 74-year-old Patricia May, 49-year-old Cherie May, 24-year-old Devin May, 25-year-old Shania Thompson, and 21-year-old Quentin Thompson. Two other relatives survived the shooting at Jones Park. Authorities described the attacks as targeted, but they had not publicly revealed a motive or a complete timeline explaining how the violence unfolded across the three locations. Because the suspects are minors and the investigation remains active, many important details have not been released. This episode of Deep Crimes TV examines the confirmed facts, the reported family connections, the victims whose lives were taken, and the unanswered questions investigators must still resolve.
