Marcela de san Félix: la hija silenciada de Lope de Vega | Fernando Bonete

In this interview with Atrapalibros, we speak with Fernando Bonete about "The Daughter of the Phoenix," his first novel, published by Espasa. The novel brings to light the figure of Marcela de San Félix, daughter of Lope de Vega, a Trinitarian nun and writer. A woman marked by an immense surname, a religious vocation, and a literary work that has not received the recognition it deserves in cultural memory. We begin with a powerful image: the burial of Lope de Vega in Madrid in August 1635. The funeral procession passes by the Trinitarian convent so that Marcela can bid farewell to her father from within its cloister. From there, Fernando Bonete constructs a historical novel that views the Golden Age from a different perspective: that of those who wrote from the margins. In our conversation, we discussed Marcela de San Félix, Lope de Vega, the weight of family names, women writers of the Golden Age, silence, the literary canon, and how fiction can bring back into the spotlight those who have been left out of the limelight. 📚 Book: The Daughter of the Phoenix ✍️ Author: Fernando Bonete 🏛️ Publisher: Espasa Follow us to discover books, authors, and literary conversations. » Subscribe here:    / @atrapalibros   Connect with me on social media: Instagram:   / atrapalibros.es   Facebook:   / atrapalibros.es   Twitter:   / atrapalibros_es
