48 hours in Istanbul | Day 1!

48 hours in Istanbul | Day 1! This is our first trip in 2 years! We spent 48 hours in Istanbul and in this video you will see where you can go and what you can see in 2 days in this vibrant and beautiful city! We started our morning with a traditional Turkish breakfast in Meroddi Barnathan hotel where we stayed. It has a beautiful cafe with a view of Galata Tower. The hotel is located only 2 minutes away from it and I booked on purpose because I wanted to visit Galata Tower but I also wanted to skip the long lines that it usually has because of its popularity among tourists! We went to buy tickets at approximately 10 AM and had only 3 persons in front of us. In order to get inside, we had to have a special code that you can get from the government website when you enter the country, without it, you can't go inside! The price of 1 adult ticker was 100 Turkish lira or approximately $8.88 dollars. The tower itself has 6 floors and an elevator inside. On each of the floors, you can see different historical artifacts and a museum that will show and tell its history. On the top floor, you can see the city at 360 degrees and the views are breathtaking! I would strongly recommend to everyone to visit Galata Tower, it's worth it! After the tower, we went towards the Asian side from the European side. Two continents are connected by the Galata bridge. Right after the bridge we took a water taxi and made a round trip through Bosphorus. After the cruise we were hungry and tried the famous fish sandwich that you can find right after the bridge and it's served to you from the beautiful Dragon Boats, you can't miss them! Also, we tried pickle juice as well as a chicken doner. After that, we went towards the Sultanahmet area to visit Hagia Sofia and The Blue Mosque. Right before that we visited beautiful Gulhane Park and had some lemonades because the weather was really hot and it was summertime! Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque were amazing as well as the Sultanahmet Park. I also wanted to visit Basilic Cisterns but it was closed due to Covid. On the way back we had some Turkish sweets at the local restaurant and it was time for us to take a break after walking around the whole city. In the evening we went to the fish restaurant named Neptun Balik which is located on the Galata Bridge. We were meeting my wife's friends from Clubhouse :) That was the end of our first day in Istanbul! Stay tuned for the second part that will come out shortly!
