An Awesome Day in Fiji for Half the Price of a Ship Excursion S3:E6

In Episode 6 of our South Pacific Cruise Series, we arrive in Port Denarau, Fiji. With no set plans, we disembark the tender seeking the ultimate island adventure. We shop around the many tour operators and find an island day trip with Beachcomber Fiji for less than half the price of a comparable shore excursion. Upon our return we show just how much the tendering process sucks. As usual, we discuss ways to stay on budget while seeing all that these beautiful South Pacific islands have to offer. And we once again demonstrate how it is much cheaper to do these activities without involving the cruise line. We even manage to book a last minute trip to a remote island. We spend the day snorkeling and beach combing as we experience heaven on Earth. Our cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Lines Sun takes us to numerous islands including Bora Bora, Rarotonga, American Samoa, Pago Pago, The Kingdom of Samoa, Fiji and Vanuatu, Then we arrive in Australia where we make port calls in Brisbane, Melbourne, Portland, Adelaide, and Kangaroo Island. After that, we visit Hobart, Tasmania before we sail through the fjords of New Zealand's Fjordlands National Park. We round off the cruise with stops in Dunedin, Wellington, Picton, Napier, Tauranga and Aukland. As usual, we have made some prearranged tours prior to sailing, but in some places we leave the ship with very little idea of what we are going to do that day. Whether planned or spontaneous, we manage to have a fantastic time as we experience our first trip down under.
