From 460+ Projects to the Top 10 Finalists | UC Berkeley AI Hackathon 2026

After 24 hours of building with almost no sleep, our team had the opportunity to present Sentinel on stage as a Top 10 Finalist at the UC Berkeley AI Hackathon 2026, the largest collegiate AI hackathon in the world. Out of 1,100+ participants and 460+ AI projects, Sentinel was selected as a Top 10 Finalist and also received a Redis Honorable Mention during the Closing Ceremony. 🛡️ What is Sentinel? Sentinel is an AI Security Engineer for vibe coders that helps developers identify, validate, and fix security vulnerabilities before they reach production. Simply connect a GitHub repository or deployed website, and Sentinel: • Uses specialized AI agents to scan for security vulnerabilities. • Validates exploits through live attack simulations in isolated Browserbase cloud browsers. • Generates production-ready GitHub Pull Requests with recommended fixes. • Provides a live Trust Score, executive summaries, and easy-to-understand security reports. We also built a VS Code Extension, Chrome Extension, and a web dashboard to make security part of every developer's workflow. ⚙️ Tech Stack Next.js Cloudflare Workers & Durable Objects Browserbase PostgreSQL + Prisma Upstash Redis Anthropic OpenAI Fetch.ai Sentry A huge thank you to Hackathons @ Berkeley, the judges, mentors, sponsors, and everyone who made this incredible experience possible.
