Man arrested after Churchill statue vandalised with 'WAR CRIMINAL' paint
A Winston Churchill statue has been vandalised overnight. The statue in London's Parliament Square was defaced in the early hours of the morning with slogans including "Zionist war criminal", "Stop the Genocide", "Never again is Now" and "Globalise the Intifada". The bronze statue of the former British Prime Minister, which stands just metres away from the Houses of Parliament was unveiled in 1973. The pro-Palestine slogans painted on the plinth and body of the statue also appear to include the phrase "Greetings from the Hague" in Dutch.
