MR.BIG - "Colorado Bulldog" - Drums Cover (By Kevin Paradis)

Hey ! I am Kevin Paradis and I am a drummer to hire ! To be a full time drummer for your band, or a live session drummer, or a studio drummer ! [email protected] This is one of the hardest song I covered. The double bass drum shuffle is extremely hard to have, especially with all the ghost note and the ride pattern. I know the "Hot For Teacher" drums part of Van Halen kind of get all the credit (and to be fair the intro is super hard of course, same with the ending), but If I remember correctly, this double bass drum shuffle has less ghost note, less groove, less stroke on the ride, and so the rest of the song is easier to play, and less of a coordination/musicality challenge. Nonetheless, don't get me wrong, I LOVE this Van Halen song, and the whole thing with the double bass drum shuffle here was to be more direct and less groovy, so totally legit to have less ghost note. Anyway, Pat Torpey was an insane drummer too, and his work for MR.BIG...I just love it, love the sound too ! Here I am using my Pearl Reference Pure kit, 8/10/12/14 toms with 20" bass drums, and my Pearl Ultracast 14/5 snare drum. Cymbals are T-Cymbals, I have my 2 Signature Storm crashes of 20/18/16, plus a Metalshop 16 crash. I am using my Magma Signature Ride 22", and also my 14" Ashes hi-hat, together with a Metalshop 14" hi-hat. Splash and Mini-China. are 10" Metalshop.
