About Mount Jackson, Virginia, USA: Mount Jackson is a small rural town in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. It's bordered on both the East and West by mountains. The North Fork of the Shenandoah River runs just to the East of town. There's plenty of farmland, forests, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, llamas, and other domesticated animals. There's wild animals, too. Most of the time they stay out of town. Cameras: The cameras are HikVision DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) equipped with 4.00mm lenses. Positioning: ↗North↖ camera is oriented toward 0° True North. ↗East↖ camera faces toward 90°, ↗South↖ faces 180°, and ↗West↖ faces 270° Combined, they give us a 360 view of the skies above this small town. It's my personal project and I've enjoyed working on it. It is a slowly maturing idea and many have given me some great advise and suggestions. Lenses: The 4.00mm lenses provide 88° Horizontal Field of View (FOV), 47° Vertical FOV and 104° Diagonal FOV. This gives us 44° to either side of the cardinal point of the compass. Aircraft Tracking: We are using ADS-B Exchange (adsbexchange.com) exclusively for real-time aircraft flight tracking. It's the world's largest public source of UNFILTERED flight data.
