Wiliam Powell was an American actor who started his career in the early 1920s and eventually retired in the late 1950s. He was a great actor and a person as a whole. William would have ended up being a lawyer as that was his dream until he quit the University of Kansas only a week after being admitted. He then relocated to New York and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduating, he dabbled in Broadway before breaking into mainstream Hollywood. He made his movie debut with his role as Foreman Wells in Sherlock Holmes in 1922. But before that, he had married his first wife, Eileen Wilson, in 1915. Together, the couple gave birth to William David Powell. He turned out to be Powell's only son. After 15 years of marriage, they both got divorced and moved on with their lives. A year later, William beholds the stunning look of Carole Lombard. She was an actress and also signed by MGM. They become love interests, and despite the significant dissimilarities in their personalities, they get married. Their marriage was the shortest William Powell had ever had. In spite of their divorce, they continued to remain good friends and later worked together on Screwball’s comedy My Man Godfrey. William Powell found love once again with Jean Harlow, but this time it came with lots of obstacles. Eventually, Jean ended up losing her life to an extreme kidney condition. It left Powell's world broken into pieces. However, another actress, Diane Lewis, came along and fixed the pieces of his heart. He married her and tasted a bit of the fantasy he portrayed on TV.
