Литературные вечера. Роман "Лестница в небо", о главе 2 "Ирина"

This stream is part of a series about my novel "Stairway to Heaven," conceived in the late 1990s and written primarily between 2023 and 2025. Here I'll share the story behind the second chapter, analyze it using Joyce (whom I drew inspiration from in my work), and explore the characters' connections to my relatives. We'll discuss the historical context—the events of 1918—and some of the historical figures mentioned in the chapter, as well as how I portrayed the abdication of Nicholas II. And, of course, I'll highlight the literary works that influenced this chapter—Bulgakov, Pasternak, Chekhov—as well as references to Carroll, Blok, and Pelevin.
