New Lawn (TifTuf Bermuda) - First Mow and Foliar Fertiliser Treatment

New Lawn - First mow and foliar fertiliser treatment. It has been 2 weeks since this new TifTuf lawn was laid. Basically the first mow should happen when the lawn is attached to the ground and is starting to grow. The aim of the first mow is to lightly cut it and encourage the lawn to thicken up in it's recovery from the cut. We want it to grow laterally instead of up towards the sky. Mowing encourages lateral growth and really helps the health of the lawn. Regular mowing is the best thing you can do for lawn. It doesn't matter if you are using a cylinder mower or a rotary, the trick is to give it a light chop. This lawn straight after the cut got it's first foliar fertiliser treatment. Launch for new lawns is great as it is a balanced NPK for feeding the whole plant and also has kelp to assist to grow the roots. Assist the root growth further with Root Builder Kelp. And as a bit of a special, a smidge of Hero humic to aid the nutrient transition. Don't over use humic. The lawn has gone a little bumpy but that is natural as the grow in rates of the lawn differ with freshly laid sod. We will do some subsequent topdressing about 3-4 week down the track to assist making this lawn super level.
