Although the Ford Taurus was discontinued in the US in 2019, the name lives on in other parts of the world, including China and the Middle East. In the latter region, the Ford Taurus debuted in 2022 as a rebadged version of the Chinese Mondeo, and received some updates almost exactly a year ago, including the addition of a hybrid powertrain. Now, Ford gives us the first look at the new Ford Taurus. Ford released two teaser images of the new Ford Taurus, which will be sold in Middle Eastern markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan. Externally, the sedan received some styling updates, with new front and rear bumpers, as well as new headlight and wheel designs. The interior of the new Taurus will receive "significant" updates, including the typical changes in colors and materials, new upholstery for the seats, a redesigned center console, and a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, the largest in its class. This same screen offers wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a new 360° camera available across the entire line. The luxurious Titanium version will receive an exclusive B&O sound system, while the Trend version will feature ventilated seats. In terms of powertrain, nothing changes compared to the two options available in the current Ford Taurus. Customers can choose between the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine, which currently produces 239 horsepower and 382 Nm (282 lb-ft) of torque and is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, or the relatively new 1.5L hybrid engine, which generates a combined power of 138 kW, or 185 horsepower.
