If you associate conservatism with old white men, you're wrong. Against all expectations it is young people who are becoming less progressive. And that is a unique historical trend! The youngest generation seems to be less open to other ways of thinking and increasingly view subjects like abortion or gay marriage as less acceptable than previous generations. That's what sociologist Quita Muis (Tilburg University) found. She is doing research on the unexpected rise in conservatism among young people. In this video she explains why.
