2025 Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4Motion in Malaysia - The Fear Of Missing Out

The Arteon is discontinued. There won’t be another car like this; or so claims Volkswagen. Sad. All we can do now is hope for a revival later on. But what went wrong? Looks to kill, space and comfort like a Camry, adaptive dampers, all-wheel drive, sub-6 seconds 0-100km/h, handles like a LWB Golf R, equipment up to the gills, and for around the price of a base 320i or C200 that, frankly, aren’t spec’d nearly as well. The Volkswagen has been in Malaysia for about 4 years but only in its current iteration free from obvious flaws and lapses in its spec sheet, so now able to reach it’s full potential as the best of the German sedans (though, technically, it’s a liftback). It beats the similarly-priced base variants of the 3 Series and C-Class in terms of sheer value and luxury, even objective desirability, while offering SUV-like practicality and hot hatch performance and dynamics. But after ticking all the boxes, it hasn’t really found the following it deserved and is likely not being replaced, making these the closing months of a true unicorn. You’ll be missed, Arteon.
