A high-profile visit to Den Helder took place on Wednesday afternoon, as King Willem-Alexander visited Nieuw Den Helder. Shortly before 4:00 PM, he arrived at the first location of his visit, the West End community center, where he was welcomed by Mayor Jan de Boer. The King's visit focused on the challenges facing Nieuw Den Helder, focusing on quality of life, community life, safety, and community spirit. Together with the mayor, he spoke with volunteers, business owners, and residents.
