In hindsight, I made this recording under bitter-sweet circumstances. It turned out that shortly after I recorded Jonathan Hope at Gloucester Cathedral in 2021, the organ would catastrophically break meaning it would never be heard again in its then form. Nicholson & Co are going to undertake a renovation and restoration of the organ, and I look forward to hearing a pipe organ in this wonderful acoustic once again.
