A U.S. military spokesman said there had been no word on the fate of the solider. Troops carrying photos of the missing soldier continued door-to-door searches in the capital's central Karadah district on Tuesday, which had been sealed off the night before, while US Kiowa reconnaissance helicopters circled overhead. The missing soldier's name and other personal details have not been officially released. U.S. forces raided Baghdad's al-Furat TV, earlier on Monday allegedly saying they were searching for an American officer of Iraqi descent who had gone to join family members in Karadah. "You U.S. soldiers should concentrate on the terrorists, the insurgents and the death squads and concentrate on these things," Mowaffak al-Rubaie, Iraqi National Security Advisor said. "Don't waste time on investigating our friends and allies," al-Rubaie said, referring to the search for the missing soldier. A military official in Washington said the missing service member was a translator and that the initial report was that he may have been abducted, AP reported. The official spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because the information was not cleared for release.
