Sunbeam Alpine Gearbox & Overdrive Rebuild (Part One: The strip down)

This is the first of a series of five videos of John 'The Box' Roseby rebuilding a Sunbeam Alpine (Series V) Gearbox and Overdrive. This is the first instalment covering how to correctly strip the gearbox. At the time of making this video John has 44 years of experience of rebuilding Rootes Gearboxes. He was trained by Laycock DeNormanville to rebuild their overdrives. There may be other ways to do this work but this is John's way. Please regard this video as a guide showing how the work can be done, If you choose to do this work yourself please take all necessary steps to ensure your safety. Do not attempt this unless you are confident that you can undertake a task of this kind and you have access to (or can make) the special tools, dummy shafts etc that you will require.
