Following identification and autopsy procedures, Eryılmaz's body was brought to Duisburg and laid to rest yesterday with funeral prayers held at the Duisburg Ditib Central Mosque. Citizens living in Duisburg and the surrounding area gathered at the Duisburg Central Mosque to pay their last respects to the late Fatih Eryılmaz. He will be buried in his hometown of Kütahya. The late Imam Fatih Eryılmaz's body will be transported to Istanbul on a scheduled flight today, Monday, November 25, 2024. From there, it will be flown to his hometown of Kütahya on Tuesday. Following the noon prayer, it will be buried at the Kütahya Ulu Mosque and then buried in the Merkez Evliya Çelebi City Cemetery. The late Eryılmaz was 44 years old and the father of two twin boys. Eryılmaz's sudden death has deeply saddened his family, members of the congregation, and a wide audience.
