Wybot C2 Review: Why This $500 Cordless Pool Robot Let Me Down (+ Better Alternatives)

After testing the Wybot C2 in our 8x20 test pool, I found some serious issues you need to know about before buying. From a "weekly timer" that only gives you 180 minutes for the ENTIRE week to 3592 GPH suction that can't keep up with corded competitors, here's my take on one of Wybot's newest robotic pool cleaners. A cordless pool robot with a weekly timer? Sign me up. But after putting it through its paces in our 8x20 Ecopool test pool, the excitement faded fast. That "weekly timer" everyone's hyped about? It gives you 180 minutes for the ENTIRE WEEK. Not per day. Not per cycle. For the whole week. At best, you're getting four 30-minute cleaning sessions spread across seven days. Compare that to a corded Dolphin Cayman running full 2-hour cycles daily — that's 14+ hours of cleaning vs. the C2's 2-3 hours in the same timeframe. It's not even close. And the suction? 3,592 GPH sounds decent until you realize the Dolphin Escape is pushing 4,000+ GPH through dual DC motors without ever worrying about battery drain. In our testing, the difference was obvious. The Escape powered through debris. The C2 struggled to keep up. Then there's the "automation" problem. With a cordless robot, you're pulling a heavy, waterlogged machine out of your pool, hauling it to the charger, waiting hours, then dragging it back. That's 14 interactions per week minimum if you want a full cleaning cycle every day. With a corded robot and a weekly timer? You press a button once. That's it. That's the whole job. I wanted to love the Wybot C2. The navigation customization is cool. The build quality is solid at 17 lbs. The dual-layer filtration is decent. But none of that matters when the robot can't do the one thing I need it to do: actually automate my pool cleaning. Bottom line? It's Pool Nerd Disapproved. Save yourself the headache and grab a Dolphin Escape for the same price — or step up to the Cayman for true set-it-and-forget-it automation. Your future self will thank you.
