The Apple Tart (Appeltert) with Evaporated milk is always a hit with family and friends. It’s a warm and comforting South African 🇿🇦 treat to fulfil those sweet teeth 😋 ! Also, it has an incredible texture! You can have it cold but we usually serve it hot with custard but another alternative could be to serve it with cream or even more evaporated milk! The video shows me making enough apple mixture, batter and evaporated milk sauce for 2 apple tarts which serves 10-12 people. Ingredients for Sponge Batter 💛 🫙 2 cups of Plain Flour 🥄 1 1/2 Tbsps of Baking Powder 🤍 1 1/2 cups of Caster Sugar 🧂 1 Tsp of Salt 🥛 300ml Milk 🧈 60ml of Melted Unsalted Butter 🥚 4 whisked eggs Ingredients for Evaporated Milk Sauce 🥣 🥛 1 tin (410g) of Evaporated Milk 🤍 1 cup of Caster Sugar
