Something Different.. Vintage Nelson Arndale Shopping Centre - final tour before closure Pendle Rise

Today, the Nelson Arndale Centre aka The Admiral Centre aka Pendle Rise Shopping Centre closes after nearly 60 years serving the former Lancashire mill town of Nelson near Burnley. In the video, we chart the demise of the British High Street and town centre, we tour all the internal and external areas which are accessible and look at the history of the building. The vintage shopping mall opened in 1967 and is one of the oldest undercover shopping centres in England and retains many original features. The centre closes on Monday 10th November 2025 with the video being filmed on Saturday 8th November. Once innovative, it's now a relic of a bygone age, with just two shops open, and just a tiny fraction of it's 106,000 square foot of retail space in use and it's now showing the signs of decay.
