Paper Mario Dark Star Edition: The Dark Revenant with CantWin File Code, Triple Curse (9x)

Oh no! That Revenant is spreading even more fire, and it already had WAY too much fire to begin with! CantWin is a File Code in Dark Star Edition that sets you to level 27, gives you all 128 badges, and the 5 unlockable stones immediately (all but Greed, Badge, and Rainbow). However, in return, it forces all encounters to be at least 4.5x difficulty, the equivalent of Super + Mega Curse. Equipping Curse badges does NOT stack with this multiplier, but if you equip Ultra + Mega Curse or all 3 Curses, you will do a fight on that respective difficulty instead of the innate 4.5x difficulty that CantWin forces. When doing the Temple Bosses in the 'intended' order (Dark Rush order), the Dark Revenant is the 5th fight among them. The Dark Revenant's gimmick is that you have to bring its HP down to 0 a total of 4 times in order to KO it. The first 3 times you bring its HP down to 0, it gets all of its HP back and has more HP to get through. It also uses stronger attacks each time its HP is brought to 0. The Dark Revenant has 1 Defense regardless of which phase you're in. The Base HP/Attack values for the Revenant are as follows: Phase 1: 20 HP, 5 Attack (180 and 45 respectively) Phase 2: 40 HP, 10 Attack (360 and 90 respectively) Phase 3: 60 HP, 15 Attack (540 and 99 respectively) Phase 4: 80 HP, 20 Attack (720 and 99 respectively) Effective total Base HP: 200 (1800 on 9x) It may seem weird that I'm going to do the Mega Bounce Exploit for this fight. After all, the Item Saver strategy from the Dark Traveler also works here. I actually did it to see how it would play out and it can beat this fight very convincingly on 9x difficulty, leaving 4 items to spare by the end. Unfortunately you have to use Mega Bounce for this fight, even when using Item Saver. Believe me I really tried to make it work without doing so; it wasn't happening. This left me in a bind for this fight; showcase a 6x clear of this fight that doesn't use Mega Bounce, but is on a lower difficulty, or do 9x using Mega Bounce. I chose the latter and opted to use the Mega Bounce Exploit for 2 reasons. First reason was so that this fight lasts fewer turns, thus saving on items for me. The second reason was because this is the last fight in which I would be able to practice the Mega Bounce Exploit prior to the Dark Replicator who's on the horizon. You can disagree with these reasons if you want, but this was my mindset when thinking about this fight. Also note, while I will need Mega Bounce for the Dark Summoner who's next, I will not at all need the exploit to get through it. Mega Bounce doesn't need further explanation here. I boosted its damage with P-Up D-Down, Flower Power, Dark Power, and Ice Power (the Revenant is weak to Ice). HP Drain allows me to recover all the HP I need in conjunction with Cake Regen that the Revenant is capable of dealing. Perfect Stand and Dark Shield stay since we need the damage reductions here. Lastly, Feeling Fine protects the partner since the Revenant can hit the partner with its attack from Phase 2 onwards. 10 Yoshi Biscuits and 10 Dark Shroom Cakes are what you need in order to survive this fight. Goombario is the main damage dealer for the partners, since he can consistently deal 9 damage each turn with Megabonk. Lakilester gains use starting in Phase 2 for Cloud Nine. Buzzatrice provides Rejuvenate support so that we can still get back to full HP even if we need to refresh Cake Regen.
