Masking Tutorial (3 of 4) - How to mask: Air conduction
This is the third video in a four-part series on masking basics. Initial masking level (AC): Air conduction threshold of the non-test ear + 10 dB safety pad Steps: 1. Find your initial masking level 2. Increase the stimulus level until you get a response 3. Raise the masker until you get no response or a 15-20 dB plateau 4. Repeat 2-3 until you find the plateau Series videos: 1: Knowing when to mask: Air conduction 2: Knowing when to mask: Bone conduction 3. How to mask: Air conduction 4. How to mask: Bone conduction In this video we're going over how to mask when measuring air conduction hearing thresholds.
