Canada vs Ecuador: Which Gives You More Freedom?

People often ask me whether Canada or Ecuador is cheaper. That's actually the wrong question. After spending significant time in both countries, I've realized that cost is only part of the equation. Housing, food, transportation, and everyday expenses all matter—but so do flexibility, optionality, and the amount of financial pressure an environment creates. In this video, I compare Canada and Ecuador across three major categories and share some observations from living in both. The goal isn't to declare a winner. It's to understand how different environments shape the way we live. Because Street Smart has never really been about travel. Travel is the laboratory. The lessons are the product.
