KANGCHENJUNGA AN EXPEDITION WITH Khanjira Guruprasanna G , B C Manjunath and Amith Nadig Practicing anything in life is painful if you don't enjoy it. Similarly climbing a humongous mountain like Kanchenjunga is probably one of the most difficult tasks. But what we beleive in is not the result but the process. Similarly in this piece we have tried to climb a mountain, but during the process we have had experiences of trekking in several places. The act of putting the piece together along with our dear Friends Pramath Kiran and @Vishwas avathi (www.fstopro.com) was one of the most Joyous experiences that we have had. Hence we name this KANCHENJUNGA, where the music itself reflects very much like the mountain, the myriad colors that one gets to see from its base camp until Summit. Not one region of the climb is similar to another. Likewise, we have this reflected in the music too where the Ragas build up as well as change colors at the same time giving way to teasing interplays with harmonies seldom used in the Carnatic Repertoire.
