fun, splashy abstract watercolor butterfly
This is a loose, abstract watercolor butterfly that is really fun to paint! You can use any medium brush of your choice and 3 main colors- a base color for the butterfly wings, a contrasting color for the veins, and a complimentary bright color to splatter, usually a warm color. I also use a white gouache to splatter around at the end, which creates a delicate atmosphere to the wings. Have fun! Tag me @bloomfeatherstudio on Instagram. I would love to see what you come up with! Colors I used: quinacridone purple from Daniel Smith lemon yellow from Winsor Newton horizon blue from Holbein hooker's green to mix with the purple which makes a dark gray for the body of the butterfly, but you can use payne's gray or black if you would like.
