Fuel System Overhaul - "Barn Find" 1968 Cougar XR7-G

Whenever a car has been sitting for years and years without running, it's guaranteed that the fuel system needs to be overhauled before you even try to start it up. This is especially important since the rise of ethanol-blended gasoline, which wreaks havoc on fuel systems when it sits for too long. We recently pulled this 1968 Cougar XR7-G out of a garage, where it had been sitting since 1989. We were amazed to find that it still had pure, ethanol-free gas in it. Still, the whole fuel system needed to replaced or rebuilt, so we dove right in. This video chronicles that journey, and the same information and parts apply to Mustangs.
