بِعَزْمِ هَدْيِكَ - الْفَقِيرُ إِلَى اللَّهِ

By the resolve of Your guidance, the dark faces vanish. By the resolve of Your guidance, the dark faces vanish, and from Your light the armies of the universe draw strength. O Master of Creation, O You who have no equal, and before whose threshold generosity falls short. I am incapable of describing Him in whom the light of majesty shines, as if poetry were a shackle in His sublimity. For You are a sword from the Most Merciful, drawn by the hands of guidance, which will not falter. The desert They said, "You praised," so I replied, "The light made me speak; and can a lute fall short in its magnification?" Kings walk, their crowns of glory lowering them, ** But you are the crown of sublimity, and the universe is filled with you. You gave the earth meaning, making it our home, ** And were it not for you, life would be a trench. If I speak, it is from the bounty of prophecy, ** A single word; and if I am absent, the acknowledgment is witnessed. If my entire life were crafted from the praise of the Prophet, ** No rhymes would suffice, nor would any glorification encompass it. May the God of the Throne bless you as long as A song of birds sang above the branches, O soul, be at peace, for this praise is a sanctuary for me, protecting my heart when treachery assails me. This is the conclusion of my poem, and I am certain that the affection within its verses is eternal. The one in need of God's mercy
