Myokenura is a popular destination for anglers accustomed to fishing on the rocky shore. Located on the west coast of Amakusa, it offers crystal clear waters. Black porgy, targeted with the float fishing method, is popular, and in the cold season, 40cm-class fish are often caught, as well as larger 50cm fish. Few people target black porgy here, but this is where 50cm-class fish migrate. There are also many bottom fish such as red snapper and spotted grouper, and in spring, 2kg-class mizui squid can be caught. There is a wide variety of fish species, with bluefish migrating and blackfin sea bass available, and regulars who come here to target moray eels. *The steep rocky shore makes for poor footing, so it is not recommended after rain. Please be sure to approach the shore appropriately and with proper equipment. *The rocky shore accessed by a rope on the south side is also dangerous.
