Ahbap was seen as a giant aid center almost competing with state institutions. People sent their savings, salaries, their children's allowances, and money they earned working abroad for years, in response to his call. Then, suddenly, everything turned upside down. Those who carried him on their shoulders yesterday are now practically asking: "Et tu, Brute?" Some people who stood by him in the past made venomous statements. There were those who said, "I was deceived too." Some tried to distance themselves from the story by saying, "I warned you years ago." Others used direct insults, calling him a "thief," "gambler," "lacking character," and even harsher terms. But the issue wasn't just insults. It was alleged that money collected for earthquake victims was used in gambling and betting accounts. Hundreds of millions of liras were claimed to have passed through accounts opened in other people's names. Millions of dollars in debt, chain property transfers, checks allegedly bounced, and money taken for projects supposedly established for aid purposes were all reflected in the file. And that wasn't all. Numerous unverified rumors spread to the public, ranging from parties held on private jets to alleged shady dealings for money. Some allegations were so serious that the matter transformed from an artist's financial problems into a dark case questioning trust, philanthropy, and social conscience. Of course, all of this is not yet a final court ruling. Which of the accusations are true, which are exaggerated, and which are completely unfounded will be revealed at the end of the trial. However, there is an undeniable truth: The man who once earned everyone's trust is now defending himself amidst the ruins of that trust. Here before you is a story of trust, disloyalty, and a great downfall that began with applause, grew with allegations worth millions of liras, and ended in darkness with the question, "Did he deceive us too?" A name known in Turkey for years through aid campaigns was seen not on a concert stage or at an aid event, but at the center of an investigation involving extremely serious accusations. 25 suspects, including Haluk Levent, the founder of the Ahbap Association and an artist, were detained as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and referred to the courthouse. After the completion of the judicial proceedings, the magistrate's court decided to arrest Haluk Levent and 14 other suspects. Judicial control measures were applied to the other 11 suspects. Thus, Haluk Levent, who has been in the public eye for years with his solidarity, mutual aid, and social responsibility activities, was captured on camera this time as he was being taken to prison. It was announced that among those arrested were Haluk Levent, as well as Ece Güner, İlker Çetin, Nurdan Eriş, Yusuf Can Ertit, Kemal Ötünç, Şehmuz Baştuğ, Abdülcevat Özkan, Emrah Gödeliner, Erhan Dökmeci, Halil Bostancı, Mehmet Ulu, Yeliz Kaya, and Zafer Yay. It was stated that the procedures regarding the 17 suspects detained by the gendarmerie teams are ongoing. However, the most striking aspect of the investigation was not only the detention and arrest warrants. The gravity of the accusations in the file caused great astonishment in the public. The Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch, in coordination with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has charged the suspects with "forming an organization to commit crimes," "aggravated fraud," and "laundering assets derived from crime."
