Subscribe to my channel -    / @blog_odkrywcy   I invite you to visit the former Mikulczyce Mine in Zabrze. History The mine was established on August 22, 1906, under the name Donnersmarckhütte AG. At that time, the following mining fields were combined: Zabrze (granted on September 19, 1870), Neue Abwehr (granted on October 30, 1870), Deutsch Lothringen (granted on January 10, 1871), Saargemünd (granted on April 12, 1871), and Jungfrau Metz (granted on January 31, 1872). Construction of shafts began in 1901, and mining operations began in 1903 in the area of the Neue Abwehr field. The Adolf (later Jan) shaft was deepened between 1901 and 1906, and the Elisabeth (later Bolesław) shaft was built between 1906 and 1912. Production in 1913 amounted to 944,823 tons. The plant belonged to the Donnersmarckhütte AG company, then to the Castellengo-Abwehr Mining Company from 1927. Production in 1938 amounted to 1,351,705 tons. In 1945, the mine adopted the name Mikulczyce and from that year belonged to the Zabrze Coal Industry Association. On October 1, 1960, the mine was merged with the Rokitnica Coal Mine to form the Mikulczyce-Rokitnica Coal Mine. This was then merged with the Ludwik-Concordia Coal Mine (see KWK Ludwik) on January 1, 1970, under the name Rokitnica Coal Mine. Architecture The mine retains a complex of buildings near the shaft tops and social and administrative buildings from the early 20th century, including the valuable pithead building from 1908. The following have been added to the municipal register of historical monuments: the pithead building with a bathhouse and cloakroom, the Jan shaft engine room, the compressor room, the repair hall and distribution center, the bathhouse, and the boiler room with a power plant. #blogodkrywcy #zabrze #kopalniapstrowski #mikulczyce #mines #urbex #ruins #monuments #technicalmonuments #industriada #adventure #mysteriousworldofruins #musicfordestruction #mine
