Dolyna Shyroka is an old Ukrainian traditional song that I learned from my grandma when I was a child. This song is full of sadness and disappointment. The title of the piece means “Wide Valley”. For me, this valley is a place to go when you have a lot of pain in your heart and where you can scream loudly and freely to get rid of your suffering.
