Finnish Traditional Pulla\ Cardammom bread\ korvapuusti
Ingredients: ll Purpose Flour 300 g Warm Milk 1/4 cup (50 ml) (For vegan diet you can use almond or soya milk) Dry Yeast 7 g Butter 1/4 cup (50 g) (for vegan diet use vegetable butter) Sugar 1/3 cup (30 g) Cardomom Powder 1 tsp Egg 2(For vegetarian diet you can use 1 tsp vinegar or soda water 10 ml for fluffy texture ) Warm water 60 ml (for developing yeast){If the flour is dry then need to take some more water for kneading} Salt 1/2 tsp 3 g Garnishing : Chopped almonds: 1 tsp Pearl Sugar: 2 tsp Raisins: 10 g 1 egg: for brushing (optional you can use vegetable butter for vegan diet) For Subscribing my channel click the link below so that you will get a notification for new recipes: / @recipesandshoot3749 Process: 1. Develop the yeast by adding yeast into warm water 2. For fast development add sugar to the yeast mixture and keep it 5 min aside 3. Now warm the milk and add butter and melt it 4. Take a mixing bowl and pour 2 eggs and whisk 5. Now add salt, butter and milk mixture and developed yeast mixture in the bowl 6. Add cardamom powder and whisk. 7. Add flour to the mixture in parts as it required. 8. The dough will be sticky and form a shape keep it cover for 2 hours. 9. Once the dough raised take out and knead for 1 min . 10. Divide the dough in 4 equal parts and roll each ball of equal length. 11. Now join 4 braids at top . 12. Now cross 2 and 4 th place braid over 1 and 3rd place. 13. Again the braid which is now in second place cross over to 3 rd place. 14. Now repeat the steps from 12 till the end of braids. And joint the all 4 together. 15. Brush the loaf with egg 16. Now garnish with almonds, raisins and pearl sugar. 17. Now rest the loaf for 20 mints 18. Preheat the oven for 180 degree centigrade . 19. Now at temp 180 degree centigrade bake for 25 to 30 mints. Keep watching after 20 mints in between so it wont burn. 20. Serve with coffee or tea .
