Subang City is home to numerous historic buildings, dating back to both prehistoric and colonial times. One of them, the Tjinangling Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA Tjinangling), is located in Sampih Village, Dauan District, Subang Regency. Constructed in 1936, the building is located on the main road connecting Kalijati and Sagalaherang. The Tjinangling Hydroelectric Power Plant is the oldest, first-generation hydroelectric power plant in West Java. Parts of the building have suffered damage, particularly to the glass. According to the management, people often intentionally throw stones at the glass, and some people often use the area without prior permission for filming, which is certainly very risky. The Tjinangling Hydroelectric Power Plant was built to meet the needs of plantations in the Subang area owned by the P & T Land (Pamanukan and Tjiasem Landen) trading company, which was then led by Peter William Hofland. Inside the building is a generator made by the Swiss company Escher Wyss, producing approximately 1,900 hp to power the Jalupang, Gunung Tua, Tambaksari, and Ciater plantations. Not far from the hydroelectric power plant, about 300 meters to the south, is the Cikopi irrigation system, which supplies water to drive the turbines, which is sourced from the Curugagung River upstream. A stone wall bears the inscription "VOLTOOID," indicating the construction date of October 1929, seven years after the Tjinangling hydroelectric power plant.
