Once a year the bridge is opened to pedestrians for the Navy Bay Bridge Run/Walk, a fundraiser sponsored by and benefiting the Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program. It’s a rare opportunity to soak in the sights and sounds of the San Diego Bay from a unique vantage point.
