Meet the House of Habsburg

This video is filled with simplifications and generalizations. It should be regarded as a brief introduction to the vast subject that is the history of the Habsburg dynasty. The Habsburg dynasty is arguably the most influential of the european royal houses. Vast empires from the danube stretching even to the Americas, whole countries named after their figureheads, such as the Philippines, patronage of artists such as Diego Velázquez and Mozart, all of this are testaments of the mark left by the House of Habsburg on the modern history of our planet. This video will cover (almost) the entire history of the Habsburgs as kings and emperors of Europe, from their rise as local nobles from Switzerland to their downfall in World War 1, in an oversimplified manner like a casual approach to this vast subject in an animated style.
