1980's Alpine 5255 in car cassette player

Short video showing how to repair this deck by replacing the main rubber drive belt. Deck was just continuously switching between forward and reverse playback when a tape was inserted. Speed of the motor is then adjusted. Also shown is a pin diagram for the QRB (quick release bracket) cage plug at the rear of the deck, use this to create your own cable if you do not have the cage and matching plug. This retro tape deck, released in 1988, was a high end model back in the day. Alpine audio systems were fitted to many high end car marques. It is a good looking unit with its bright VFD (vacuum florescent display) It also has full logic controls, music skip, blank skip, auto reverse and Dolby noise reduction.
