The Corsa E is the fifth generation of the model series and replaced its predecessor, the Corsa D, after eight years. Opel aligned the vehicle's appearance with the smaller Adam; design elements from the Insignia are also recognizable. Like its predecessors, the Corsa is offered as a three-door and five-door model. The Corsa E's chassis was completely redesigned. The Corsa E's platform largely corresponds to that of the Corsa D; the two models differ only slightly in their dimensions. The Corsa E was unveiled at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris from October 4 to 19, 2014. It is available with, among other options, a new turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine. Like its predecessor, the Corsa E is manufactured in the Eisenach and Zaragoza plants. It has been delivered to Switzerland since January 2015. Opel launched it in Germany on January 24, 2015.
